Zoom Integration Guide

Last updated: June 12, 2026

What the Zoom integration does

With Zoom connected, Nakama shows your upcoming Zoom meetings (grouped Today / Upcoming, each with time, duration, a Join button and a copy-link button) and lets you create an instant meeting in one click, ready to start or share into Slack or Telegram.

Adding the app (connect)

1. Open the Nakama side panel in Chrome.

2. Press the + (Add) button at the bottom of the right-hand rail to open the Marketplace.

3. Choose Zoom and press Connect.

4. A Zoom sign-in page opens as a browser tab. Sign in to your Zoom account and press Allow to authorize Nakama.

5. The tab closes itself, a Zoom icon appears in the Nakama rail, and the Zoom panel opens with your meetings.

Using the app

See your meetings. Click the Zoom icon in the rail. Meetings are grouped Today / Upcoming with their time and duration. Press Join to open the meeting, or the copy button to copy the join link.

Start an instant meeting. Press New meeting at the top of the panel. A "Meeting ready" card appears with a Start button and a copy-link button.

Permissions and data handling

Nakama requests these Zoom scopes: view your user profile, view your meetings, and create / update / delete meetings. Nakama calls the Zoom API directly from your browser: your Zoom access token is stored only in your browser's local extension storage and is never written to Nakama's servers. The app's client secret is kept server-side only for the OAuth token exchange; no meeting content, recordings or personal data are stored by Nakama.

Removing the app (disconnect)

In Nakama: press + (Add) in the rail to open the Marketplace, find Zoom (shown as Connected) and press it to disconnect. The Zoom icon disappears from the rail immediately and the stored token is deleted from your browser.

In Zoom: go to the Zoom App Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps, find Nakama and press Remove. This revokes Nakama's access on Zoom's side. You can reconnect at any time.

Troubleshooting

"Zoom declined the request" or a 403 error: your authorization predates the app's current permissions — disconnect and connect again to re-authorize.

The connect tab closed without connecting: closing the Zoom sign-in tab cancels the connection; press Connect again.
